Your work stays yours

Where your data lives, what the AI may and may not do with it, and how we keep it safe, in plain words

  • Stored in the EUYour projects, documents, files and profile are kept in Ireland, in the European Union
  • Never trains AINothing you put into UiNform trains any AI model, ours or anyone's
  • Yours to takeAn owner can download every document, every file and all your data, at any time
  • Only yours to seeEach organisation can only ever reach its own work, and the app checks this on every request

Where your data lives

Everything your organisation keeps in UiNform is stored in Ireland, in the European Union. Our nightly backup is made in Belgium, encrypted there with a key only we hold, and kept in the EU, so it never leaves Europe

Two steps happen in the United States, briefly, for one purpose each

  • Writing your documentsWhen you press Generate, the parts of your project a document needs go to the AI company whose models write it, under UiNform's rules. It deletes what it receives within 30 days, unless it breaks its usage policy or the law requires it, and it never uses your data to train its AI
  • Signing inYour name, email address and organisation's name are held by our sign-in provider, which also sends team invitations

Each company is bound by a data protection agreement with us, and the transfer is covered by the safeguards the EU approves. They are named on the Sub-processors page inside UiNform, which you can read once you sign in

Your data never trains AI

  • UiNform trains no AI, and never will
  • The AI company that writes your documents is not allowed to train on them
  • We never sell your work, and we never use one organisation's work to write another's
  • We keep a count of how much writing a document took, never your words

Written with AI, decided by you

UiNform writes with AI under rules our team has written for every paragraph and every line of every document. They hold it to what you told us: it should not invent a figure, a place or a commitment, and where it cites evidence it searches trusted humanitarian publishers and names its source

  • Read it all. You send it under your organisation's name
  • Check every figure, date and name against your own records, especially budgets and targets
  • Open the sources. Every citation links to the page it came from
  • Make it yours. Edit anything, and UiNform tells you when it found something only you can settle

UiNform helps you write a strong proposal. Whether a donor funds it is the donor's decision

How we keep it safe

  • Your data travels encrypted and is stored encrypted
  • Each organisation can only ever reach its own work, checked on every request
  • Two roles: members do all the work; owners also invite and remove people, change roles, take the export and can delete the organisation
  • A security record notes who opened which document, and when, kept for a year
  • When someone on our small team looks at a workspace to improve UiNform, they can only look, it ends by itself within an hour, and it is recorded
  • A deleted organisation can be restored for 30 days, then it is erased for good
  • If something ever went wrong, we would tell you without delay, and the authorities within 72 hours
